Any color as long as it’s Dupont.

Barry Brown tells us that he has owned his 1936 Indian Four for 25 years and that this beauty is a joy to ride. But he also told us -and we didn’t know- that around 1931 the Dupont family bought the Indian Company for one of their bike crazy sons (this was Paul Dupont who was alos th man behind Dupont automobiles). Anyway from then on you could specify your Indian in any paint color that Dupont made. We're not sure if Barry is exagerating slightly, but we found that in 1934 Indian came with a choice of 24 colors (wikipedia) (photo Bryn Gladding Photography, 3351 Huron Road New Hamburg, Ontario , tel. 1-519-729-4863)

What a nicely staged shot. And the 'bike is in just the condition we like...looks as if it's regularly used. I never knew that about Du Pont - fascinating.
