During the Lincoln Model K’s final season, production for 1939 became extraordinarily limited, while only a handful were completed for government use in 1940. Nearly every chassis was fitted with the factory's imposing sedan or limousine coachwork. The once-abundant semi-custom bodies had dwindled to only a select few, most created by Edsel Ford's favored coachbuilder, Brunn & Company of Buffalo, New York. Among the most elegant was Brunn's Convertible Victoria, distinguished by its rakishly angled windshield, fully disappearing side windows, and graceful blind-quarter top that folded nearly flush with the bodywork, creating an automobile of exceptional elegance whether open or closed. Only two Brunn Convertible Victorias are believed to have been built on the Model K chassis for 1939.

This automobile is one of those two exceptionally rare examples, as confirmed by a copy of its factory build record on file. Interestingly, it carries Brunn body number 4-8, indicating that it received the eighth Convertible Victoria body, one that had remained in Brunn's inventory from an earlier production run. The build record further confirms its matching chassis, engine, and body numbers, along with factory-equipped dual side-mounted spares and its original Royal Blue Dark finish, closely matching its present appearance. Final delivery was made to New York City.

The car's early history is not fully documented, but by 2008 it had entered the collection of international businessman and noted enthusiast Othon Ochsner. In 2012, longtime collector and Lincoln enthusiast Henry Petronis acquired the Model K for his distinguished collection, where it would remain for the balance of his life, before passing to James G. Robinson. Carefully displayed as part of the Robinson collection, the Lincoln continues to present beautifully, following its older restoration.

Perhaps most significantly, the car appears to have been an exceptionally sound and well-preserved example prior to being restored, retaining its original Brunn body tag and much of its original body wood, complete with Brunn assembly stampings still visible beneath the seats. Such original construction details are seldom found and provide compelling evidence of the car's authenticity and careful preservation. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer displayed 59,095 miles.

As one of only two Brunn Convertible Victorias built for the final public year of Model K production, this remarkable Lincoln represents one of the rarest and most elegant expressions of America’s Classic Era. Combining exceptional rarity, beautifully proportioned Brunn coachwork, numbers-matching chassis, engine, and body, and distinguished provenance, it is among the most significant surviving examples of the 1939 Model K.
