Keep checking barns....

A true collectors dream recently came out. A rumour. A phonecall. Another phonecall. An e-mail. A last minute booking. A rented car. A house in the countryside. And... a barn! And yes, even in 2003 - to be more precise even in December 2003 - it still is possible: a 1939 Bugatti T 57 Ventoux. Practically untouched in decades. A new engine -ordered form Molsheim- still crated on the side... Avid collector Chris Gardner opened the barndoors as if opening the crypt of pharao Tut Ankh Amon. The car had not been out in 42 years! Ok no pharao, no reason to gasp or fall in amazement, but untouched T 57's don't come in rows nowadays, or do they? Not even in 1960.
