A Brewster Body is not for Everybody (see Read More for updates)

Surely you’ll remember the Mystery Drawing we showed you some time ago. We had lots of answers at the time, but nobody seemed sure of the make of the car. The general consensus was that the body was a Brougham, a style based on the early horse-drawn coaches. A magnificent example of this body style is Jerry Mayo’s 1915 Brewster shown here. Brewster is well known for the coachwork the company created for Rolls Royce, but before Brewster was absorbed into the Springfield Rolls Royce company, it made several fine looking town cars. This Brewster was restored several years ago by Platinum Classics in East Rochester, New York. The mascot on the radiator is called Old Bill (ukautomobilia.com) and was more common in Europe than in the States. (RB)
