A Brussels barnfind by Bernard (update: how to define 'barnfind')

Many of you know Bernard Marreyt as an eclectic collector and very active dealer in the european scene. You'll always find him where the action is. So it didn't come as a total surprise that of all people he ran into this fine collection of vintage and classic cars. At first sight it almost doesn't look real. More like the month October in an American classic car calendar. Yet this is not the case, the location is very real. While Bernard usually will comb out the most remote locations in Europe for new finds, this time he could have taken his ATB bike to unlock this nearly forgotten collection. It's almost on his doorstep, just outside of Brussels. A picturesque location hidden by forrest surroundings. Have another peek inside before checking what Bernard has managed to drag out of the barn so far...

Update by Editor: Interesting to see/read how people react to the word barnfind (see comments). I think that Willem Mues is right. His collection will become a barnfind when you wait a few years after his demise and don't look after barn and collection. It is all a matter of how you define barnfind. Most 'barnfinds' as published in TV-programs and by auction houses are well known (collections of) cars. The only thing is that the cars involved were neglected for some time. Happy to hear more opinions.

....to me the definition of a barnfind is a collection of cars in a neglected state and left there. A very good friend [now deceased] used to call such folk 'artillery men' as they were 'gunner' get around to restoring them one day but of course never did.

If I die, the cars in my shed will also be "barn finds"? Just another sales trick.

This is stretching the term barnfind too far. More like free advertising. Enough already!

In economic difficult times 'barn find' is a popular word. Just put them up for sale and don't mention the shed they were parked in, with or without any dust :-)

The Bullnose and Minerva were already seen on events. Is it a barn find? For me no. Just a sale of cars from a shed.

I would recommend that anyone with a BSA car should join the BSA FWD Club that, despite its name, caters for all BSA cars. It is friendly and active organisation that has been established since 1959. www.bsafwdc.co.uk

Hello, The BSA Threewheeler looks familiar to me. A couple of years ago, this car stood in the Antwerp Classic Car Show with a windscreen paper (still on the car), asking for information. As I own a similar BSA, I contacted the owner, and he came over from Brussels with the car on a trailer. I gave him all the info he needed, showed him how to start and use the controls. After he left, I have heard or seen nothing of man and BSA, until today!
