See this dandy in his cool roadster. He is totally convinced of the impact he and his car have on his environment.
Jack Braam Ruben sends this photo given to him by a friend at a Dutch New Herring party (late in spring the Dutch love to savour the fresh caught salted raw herring; you have to be Dutch to enjoy this gourmet feast ). The father of the man who gave the photo is behind the wheel and was a great Cadillac fan, so we presumed it is a Cadillac we're looking at. The radiator mascot and badge seem right (or?) but when we tried to ID the glitzy Roadster we got into trouble. Maybe we didn't look good enough, but in the early/mid thirties we cannot find a single Caddy that's close to this model. We checked several other luxury brands without succes. The radiator cowl, the headlights, they all look so different (click here for detail of front); even the mascot is not excatly how a Caddy one should look like. Is it a one off custom made car? Or is it no Cadillac, and of course a ........?
Update: mark dawber identifies the car as a 1935 Studebaker President Regal Roadster. Langy Prange ads that this is the correct 'Goddes' mascot as well. Check here.
