A Dutchman in Kentucky... (UPDATE: 1919 Buick)

Please meet mr. Sonneveld from Holland. He must have been fond with cars as we know there are many photos with him and his mostly US-made cars (plus one Amilcar 8C !). More about those cars in several future features. There is one in the collection showing Mr. Sonneveld in Kentucky of all places. Why would he have gone there? And as always, what's his car? Looks like a Buick...or what? [email protected]
UPDATE by Dick Trenk:"The car is a Buick and while details are not too clear in the photo, I see the larger 34" tires and shorter wheelbase of the 1919 H Six 45 or a 1920 K Six 45 touring car. Factory material in my collection sometimes spells the word "six" and sometimes uses the numeral "6" in these models designations. Buick still made 4 cylinder models in these years. There is hardly any visual differences in the 45 series touring cars of 1919 and 1920 except the rectangular rear window was seen first in 1918 and 1919 models but an oval window was used on 1920 models and the 1920 used black fenders and bonnet with green body color on almost all cars. Because of WW-1 and that this one looks to be all one color it is likely the 1919 model. I recently sold my own 1920 K-6-45 which was one of the strongest running and reliable cars. An old mechanic friend who worked on all cars in Colorado from 1905-1976 told me that cars going up to the top of the famous Pikes Peak would stop frequently on the way down to pick up parts which had fallen of their car. With a Buick, nothing fell off in either direction. That's a real tribute to their quality of design and construction."
