A long weekend Mystery (Update: 1918-19 De Dion Bouton v8? 1913-20 FN? Minerva? Vauxhall?)

Alain Legrand sends this photo that was shot in Belgium around 1920-1925. It seems the couple depicted just has returned from a long weekend or similar. There's still some luggage waiting in the gravel behind the automobile. A lady passenger is bringing in her luggage to the big house. The car seems nearly new and of american making if we're correct. An interesting detail is the nearly total absence of brightwork except for the headlight rims. Also the closed spare tire cover is drawing our attention. Dodge Brothers?

De Dion Bouton of just post World War! vintage if I'm not mistaken, possibly a V8 model. Note the distinctive scuttle and what I take to be Rudge Whitworth wheels, then I think made under licence in France.

Probably we see an FN type 1950. This model was produced from 1913 until 1920. Although the radiator shape looks somewhat fuzzy, especially at the top, the general view and details fit in with a later version of this model rather well.

Gee, I can't see much that is American about this car. The body sides are too high, the wheels are more of a UK or European type, the windscreen ditto. The sidelights, too, don't look American but the headlights are a mystery. Right hand drive doesn't tell us much.

We should remember that at one time black plating was an option was an option instead of brass or nickel, which might explain the absence of bright work. But that radiator worries me - I wonder if it's pre-WWI Vauxhall?

Hi, this appears way to big a car to be a Dodge Brothers product. It seems similar in proportion to a 1915 Cole but alas the headlights and cowl kick up rule this out.
