A Monday morning mystery gearbox (upd. Bean or Henry Meadows or 20's Standard?)

Martin Shelley hopes you might be able to help identify a nice vintage gearbox that he is hoping to use in his 1922 Eric Longden cyclecar project. It has a remote change with four speeds and reverse, with a fabric coupling at the front and a trunnion type joint at the rear. Martin suspects it is British but it has no makers marks, yet there is ample presence of numbers (click to check). Martin also provided some dimenions: overall length including shafts is 15" (38cm), the four mounting studs form a rectangle 7.25" long by 10.75" wide (18cm x 27cm approx). The body of the box is approx 9" long by 7" wide (23cm x 18cm). The gearchange is approx 15" offset from the centre line of the box (38cm). Let's hope if all these details make a bell ring somewhere in somebody's head this Monday morning.

Hello, reference your gearbox, it looks a lot like the Henry Meddows type gearbox
that I rebuilt last year for a customers Invicta.
The ofset gearchange was almost identical
but the Invicta had a integral clutch houseing.
