A question in front of the Wright's home

A couple of weeks ago we published an article in our online Magazine called Not really a mystery. The photograph of the Stoddard-Dayton in the Redwoods that was taken in Humboldt County came from the family album. Today’s photos came from the same collection.

We see jeweller Charles Wright and his artist wife, Cora Wright, in front of their house at 1230 H Street in Eureka, California. It is funny, the house is still there (unfortunately the car is not there on Google Maps). The 1910-11 Stoddard-Dayton belonged to this happy couple. Ariejan Bos reacted to the previous article and has some questions about the car. He commented: “Interesting pair of photos! Raising two questions for me, however. First, 14 wheel spokes in the rear wheel was an identifying feature for the Stoddard-Dayton, but not always (as seems to be the case here, although the second picture is not very helpful). Is there any Stoddard expert around who can tell if the 12 spoke rear wheels were used for a specific model or not? Second, the transverse rear spring doesn't seem to be a Stoddard-Dayton feature at all, but I'm not fully sure. Could the Stoddard expert help me out here too?”
