A quiet sunny Sunday at Prescott (Update: Sima Violet ! )

VSCC Prescott Hillclimb / Gotherington August 4th/5th 2007
Finally and with perfect timing the summer weather came to Britain for probably the most popular VSCC hillclimb of the calendar. Beneath the bright blue skies, nearly two hundred and fifty cars ran up the seventy year old hillclimb in an attempt to beat class and personal records. Each year the hillclimb attracts thousands of spectators, many of them bringing out their wonderful machines to show off in the vintage car park (click main photo). James Baxter in his Father's Frazer Nash single-seater 3500 took fastest time of the day with 41.76 seconds. A spectacular time at the other far end of the scale was realised by Ian Patton in his wonderful Sima Violet 1926 (two stroke ?) - his best time being 113.06 seconds! (text and photos Liz Cawley)

Thank you Thomas Rudolf, Glen Robb, David Barker and Bob Gordon Champ for correcting us, it must be Sima Violet. (further: S.I.M.A.-Violet (Société Industrielle de Matériel Automobiles - Marcel Violet), 1924 - 1929, France - Courbevoie )
