A Washington D.C. Treasury mystery (update: 1917 Haynes Light Six roadster)

Don Risen from California sends on a photo that came 'from a friend'. He adds that it is  a "1913 photo from somewhere in Washington, D.C."  A brandnew Roadster passing a policemen amoured against the elements and a Stop & Go sign over the umbrella. Now a word like 'somewhere' always triggers us. A short search brought us in front of the Treasury Department .... and at the other side of the same car! (amazing website that is showing you 100 years of difference with a mouse operated curtain). This still doesn't give us the answer which car it is.  Now we may be very wrong, but the sleek line of bonnet and cowl plus the electric lights give the impression the car is younger than 1913, more like 1918-19. Also, there is another car in the background. Can we help Don?

As an addition to my previous message about the car being a Cole Auto. Having looked closer (especially the back end ) it could well be 1913. Cole introduced electric ignition and lights in 1913 and the back end looks like the Roadster model. Now for a little guess work... If the policeman is 6' tall I would guess the wheel base to be nearly twice as long. The series 60 was a massive 132" wheelbase. So the conclusion is a 1913 Cole series 60 tourer, costing $2485

There is a series of photographs of this car at Shorpy's, all at the same spot. It's a 1917 Haynes Light Six roadster.

I think this is the car I fell in love with 2 years ago. It looks like a Cole Aero 8 from 1916. Even if it isn't heres a picture of the love of my life. She will be mine one day.

I think this is a 1915 Haynes? The 1913 was different in the radiator and bonnet shapings.
