Any Arnott Blower experts out there?

Who is the true Arnott Supercharger expert of the world? Jan van Pijkeren has this British made blower in his shed. Made by Arnott Carburettors Ltd. Willesden, N.W. 10 (United Kingdom). There is very little to find on these after market compressors. The series number is L60H 197. According to his limited information these were in use on British racing cars. We found a few useful links where the Arnott is mentioned, like on this highly interesting supercharger overview (VictoryLibrary.com). And the various MG applications listed at MG-Tabc.org. Anybody who can say when they started business and for which type/size engine this L60H was? [email protected]

Have you found any Arnott Supercharger experts, or even someone who knows something. How about technical lit, manuals, parts lists, etc.

I have one of these on my Lancia Augusta and would be interested in buying one in better condition. Mine is so worn I have to run it at 1 1/2 times engine speed to make it worthwhile having it. I think the number on the one above might be 160, which would be the same as mine. If by chance it's for sale, please let me know. Regards, John

editor: the best chance to get one is by posting a WANTED Advert in our parts section.

In the 60s, I bought a 1934 AC 16/70 that had been upgraded to 16/90 spec by the fitting of an Arnott blower.
The car went very well, as long as the head gasket held up. I replaced it twice.
The Arnott supercharger used a strange carburettor of their own design. I replace it with an SU and got far better results.
I still have the boost gauge, if anyone’s interested.
