Chinese Language Day, have you ever heard of that? We hadn’t, but we can tell you it’s today! The United Nations has 6 official languages, and every single one of them has its own day to showcase the rich history and literary culture of each language. “The date for the Chinese day was selected from "Guyu" (literally "Rain of Millet"), which is the 6th of 24 solar terms in traditional East Asian calendars, to pay tribute to Cangjie. Cangjie is a very important figure in ancient China, claimed to be an official historian of the Yellow Emperor and the inventor of Chinese characters” as explained by the organisation.
Chinese characters. Yes,… this made us think of September 2019 when we made a trip to China and participated in the Yangtze Delta Rally. Today we look back on this great adventure in which we were shown and experienced the rich Chinese culture and (for us) a lot of unreadable signs...
The PWC team reported from the event and shared photographs on a daily basis. Read about the appreciation of Chinese people for our beloved old stuff and how the Chinese see the market for classic cars.
