Balilla Barnfind

Ruud de Pater, who we know as the CarterCar man, told us of his barnfind, a 1935 Fiat Balilla Spider. It’s one of a whole range of Fiat 508 models, introduced in 1932 and available in open and closed models until 1937. Not much is known about the early history of this particular little car. It was sold by the Deutsche Fiat Automobil Verkauf AG in June 1935. In 1939 it was in Amsterdam where the radiator was repaired by Bloksma, a well-known company in those days. A little brass plate on the radiator still bears testimony to that repair... (Photo’s Ruud de Pater)
