Last night's Bonhams sale at Paris Retromobile did show a very strong market for truly exceptional prewar and classic cars. The pace was set by the 1913 5-litre Bugatti Type 18 Sports Two-Seater 'Black Bess' which sold at a staggering Euro 2,200,000. This was only the upbeat for the sale of the very unrestored Type 57SC Atalante that fetched Euro 3,100,000 and started loud "hurrahs !" from the auction crowd... A most interesting yardstick for a fresh 2009 !
