On day 11 of the Peaks of the Andes rally, which began in Valparaíso, Chile, on October 6th, the participating cars faced their major test: crossing the Paso Jama at 15,863ft. (4,835 metres)—essentially driving at the height of Mont Blanc.

It was a breath-taking crossing, first navigating challenging hairpin bends up to 13,450ft. (4,100 metres), and from there, we were treated to stunning scenery. Salt lakes stretched out, some with llamas grazing on the sparse vegetation, alongside towering volcanoes and unique rock formations. For an hour, we drove at over 14,765ft. (4,500 metres), surrounded by yellow-green sparse vegetation, rocks, and mountains of various colours. The vastness of the landscape was simply mind-blowing.

For the next 10 days, we will remain at altitudes higher than the highest mountain pass in Europe, mostly cruising over flat terrain at around 9.845ft. (3,000 metres).
