Dress to Impress

Every Friday you’ve come to expect a pretty girl on this spot. Contrary to what you may think, today is no exception. First click the photo to see what we mean. Recognize her? No? It’s Marlène Dietrich, one of the first women who dared to wear men’s clothing. And wearing a formal dinner jacket she really knew how to ‘dress to impress’. The dinner jacket is part of an exhibition called ‘The ideal man’. It’s all about the history of men’s fashion from the seventeenth century up to the present day. The exhibition with over 150 outfits and accessories can be seen until the end of October at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. (photo courtesy Gemeentemuseum).
