Dutch mystery motor needs identification

This is an unusual one, as this picture reached us with very little information and nothing about the car itself. We tried to find out more from the source but got no reply whatsoever and did not succeed in finding out elsewhere either. Anyway: we thought it would be an idea to share it here and ask you, dear reader.

All that we know is that the car is Dutch registered here and was used by the man we see behind that big white steering wheel. He passed away last year at the age of 98 and supposedly was a boxer who spent time in colonial West-Indies. That’s it.

Anything else we can deduct from this great photograph? Well, there’s the registration in the first place. It dates back to 1951, but the car itself has to be older than that, if it was alone for the Dutch registration office coming up with a National system that very year. Before 1951 every Dutch province had its own registration system and so all Dutch cars had to be re-issued. That leaves us pretty much in the dark here. The background doesn’t show much of a location either, all we can say is that it certainly looks Dutch.

So there we go… Who knows more about this big two-seater roadster?
