Earlier this week in the PreWarCar.com Magazine…

Who knows more about this BMW 319/1?

The 319/1 is not a car we see that often so we expect someone might be able to help. It was the small roadster, a bit more powerful than the 315/1 and the first one that BMW used for racing (please correct us if we are wrong!).
The European show season started last week with the InterClassics show in Maastricht. Just like the years before, we had a great week. One of the things we were curious about is how the market is at the moment.
It is about 10 years ago that we heard the myth of a couple of Bugatti's in a barn for the first time. The story behind the cars is that of a Dutch artist, Mr August Thomassen, who had the cars in his garage for over 60 years and didn't drive them for the last years. He didn't want anybody to know he still owned the cars and only used them for inspiration for his sculptures.
What a sight it must have been in 1934, 6 women driving around in a silver Model T Ford and making long summer trips. The Gypsy Coeds is what they called themselves. 20 women who were touring for 8 summers long in the same car.
A lovely big Saloon was subject of last week's quiz. The photo is taken in Musée de Reims Champagne. And indeed a glass of champagne would be nice to have while you are sitting in the back of this 1925 Suère Type D Berline Landaulet
