Early alternative fuel at Rétromobile.

Alternative energy and ‘green’ methods of fuel consumption are a very of-the-moment concept. Yet many of the Exhibitions at Rétromobile this year prove that we are not the fore-runners of these ideas. There were many examples of both electric and steam-powered vehicles which were paving the way for future models. The 1899 Peugeot-Serpollet, a steam-powered tricycle was a fantastic example of these ‘horseless vehicles’ as was the 1908 Krieger Limousine de Voyager, which was part of a group of electric and mixed-fuel vehicles produced by Krieger and had a delightful mechanism on the wheel for clocking the mileage.
