Edgar Kehoe's Riley Brooklands

Derek White wrote: "Searching more info on my wife's Riley Brooklands Reg GK4407 (chassis 8076.) We were lucky enough to meet Edgar Kehoe(Headley1.demon.co.uk /Muriel Sherwood) who owned and raced the car from 1930-197? He told us that the car was one of the three prototype "speed" models built by Thompson and Taylor and it had been a factory demonstrator for a couple of years before being sold to "a chap in the theatre" who had it for a very short time before selling it to Kehoe. Mr. Kehoe said it was only given a chassis number and registered once Riley sold it (hence the late chassis number.) If anyone has info on the T&T prototypes or who the "theatre man" second owner might have been please write to [email protected]. My wife sold GK4407 many years ago and we have some photos that we bought from the estate after Edgar died. Get in touch if you are the new keeper (I'm on LinkedIn - BT, DIT, Gambro...)

The photo from the car at Le Mans in the fifties shows Edgar and his wife. David Venables has filled in most of the gaps in the car's history. David was a teenager and fell in love with the car. He helped Edgar prepare and race the car for many years. David has kept a very good record of the car's history and it seems it was a standard steel bodied Brooklands and the works racing parts were added over the years by Edgar. One example David mentioned was that the brakes and front axle came from the Percy Maclure works Brooklands when Percy fitted a Girling independent front suspension kit to his car.

Hallo,
I own an old black and white photo from GK 4407 which was taken at Le Mans. On passenger side there is a woman wearing eye glasses.
Car has a Le Mans starting number.
On back of the photo it is marked 57.
It is possibly from the fities or earlier.
