Electro High Wheeling Mystery (update: William Morrison Electric)

Looks like a cold morning when this high wheeled vehicle made its way out next door from Mike's Barbershop (New York, Detroit, Chicago?). Taking the wooden planked slope from inside(?) it may have been a first outing. With the thick snow porridge we're not sure this is the best day for a test drive. On the other hand a high wheelers is basically designed for these road conditions... We don't recognise the vehicle, but the small engine with direct geardive to the right wheel suggests it is in electric drive. When you click the enlargement you can see the wiring going upwards to the pick-up part of the car, probably housing the batteries. Over to you for identifying.

According to the website electricvehiclesnews, Morrison's car was bought for $3,600 by the American Battery Co. of Chicago, where they exhibited it at the 1893 Columbian Exposition.

I too think the signs says Chicago Riding Academy. Unfortunately I can't verify this or the livery or Casey the farrier across the street in any turn of the century Chicago city directories. Too bad the builder's name isn't visible. This could be close to the brothel district on the south side and near the block of future auto showrooms near 18th St. I'm by far not a Chicago expert though.

There is a sign on the right, above the 16th Street Livery sign that looks like it says "Chicago Riding Academy", or something like that. Perhaps someone with better eyes than mine can claify.
