Erskine with tooth pain. (UPDATEs)

Harm Kremer is enjoying his late twenties Erskine since 1960! Recently the car is developing an oilpump problem which in its turn has led to tooth decay of the camshaft. The engine is - he thinks - a Continental which was fairly common in various US cars of that time. Still it will not be that easy to find a used camshaft as we understand Continental made a very wide variety of engines. Anyway Harm's engine has the number: 8 F 20956. The Erskine came as a new car to Holland so possibly is an 'export' model. Any Erskine/Continental knowledge around? [email protected]
Alternatively Harm can ask an engineering expert like Vancouver Restorations to check the cam. They made a perfect pignon for the editor by weld-adding new steel and restoring the teeth. More Erskine at the Official Registry.
UPDATEs. Rick Jorgensen suggests to contact Sandy Olsen at Olson Gaskets. "He has a prize-winning Erskine and knows where many spares are located."
Kit Foster writes:"Continental Motors was the most prolific supplier of proprietary engines to the US auto industry in the 1920s. I have a listing that shows the 8F being used by Erskine in 1926. The 8F was a six- cylinder with bore & stroke of 2.63 x 4.5 inches for 146.1 cubic inches, 40 hp at 3200 rpm. Unfortunately, my list does not show another car using the 8F, nor is it possible to tell which other Continental engines might have parts that interchange. There were many, many Continental engines and their model designations are not in any logical sequence."

I have a 1927 Erskine with an 8F engine. I might be able to help Hans if he would like to get in touch with me.
