Feel like Power!

If there ever was an automobile fit for a movie star, this must be it! It’s a 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II Continental Roadster with outstanding coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly. Only two Continental Roadsters were built and this is the only one of this design. It’s history is well known; especially made for Sir Auckland Geddes, well known British doctor and diplomat who required a high-speed, sporting car for a European tour in 1934. Thereafter it remained with a director of Rootes, Ltd, the parent company of Thrupp & Maberly, as his personal car. In the 1950’s the Rolls was purchased by famous actor Tyrone Power. He had the Continental serviced at the Rolls-Royce repair depot on Hythe Road before taking it home to Beverly Hills. The Rolls must have created a sensation among his actor friends. After tyrone Power’s death in 1958 the Phantom II entered the Buess family collection where it remained until this day. The whole Buess collection including this striking Rolls Royce, will be offered for sale on May 1st by Worldwide Auctioneers during this year's Houston Classic Weekend. Don’t miss this chance if you want to feel like a movie star too!
