First Motor Museum

An apt contrtibution for todays London to Brighton run by Bas de Voogd: "The first exhibition of early motorcars was held as early as 1912 in a furniture showroom in Oxford Street in London. It was organised by Edmund Dangerfield, the owner of “The Motor” magazine. It was held for eight weeks. Seemingly succesfull it was moved to Crystal Palace where it re-opened in March 1914, to be closed again when War broke out in August that year. The War Office demanded the building for other puroses. About 40 cars were exhibited, from a 1881 Parkyns-Bateman to a 1901 Delahaye. After the closure many cars were returned to their owners but the majority of the exhibits was left out in the open near Charing Cross. Some of the cars exhibited however, have survived an can be enjoyed to this very day." (illustration collection Bas de Voogd)

I am trying to find out what happened to the Motor Museum in 1914. "The Book of the Motor Museum" gives the information in your article but the Science Museum tells me that the 1895 Holden motorcycle was donated by the Motor Museum in 1922.
We are building a working replica of this machine for Brooklands Museum so I am trying to find out its history.
Regards,
Roger
