Friday Queen

1905, an advert by the Detroit car manufacturer C.H. Blomstrom for his product the Queen Automobile. In that time marketing looked more like a hobby of the rich, more than the Warfare of more recent date(Amazon.com). We see a charming woman at the wheel, which is an easy way out to communicate that the car is easy and light to handle. From Georgano we learn the one cylinder Queen cars in fact were very light and.... "These cars had very gracefull lines." Well this all fits with a targetted female audience. Of course the cloud of cupids may symbolise the freedom of motoring and other aspects of motoring fun... including a presumed increase of attractiveness to the other gender. To help that fantasy a bit one of the cupids even looks like the average motoring friend. See, no words needed. (collection Raul Valkila)
