Grandfather’s Buick

Rutger Booy wrote: "When I saw the Buick Master 6 in last week’s Editor’s Choice, it brought back a memory of my grandfather. In the twenties he was employed as personal driver of Sir Henry Deterding, the founder of Shell, when he was based in The Hague, Holland. He used to drive a big car with separation, although I cannot remember the make. My grandfather was an enthusiastic driver, who always regretted that he could not personally own a car. But what he did was occasionally rent one and take his family on day-trips. The picture was taken in the late twenties and the car is (I think) a 1926 Buick, but you may correct me if I’m wrong.
More on Sir Henry Deterding and another piece in Dutch only'.
