The 'Societa Anonima Fabbrica Italiana Torino' started as a firm in 1899 and brought it's first car on the road in 1900. This car had no reverse gear. Symbolic for a company that decidedly wanted to go forward. Although the Fiat factory also made many big cars they are widely acknowleged as being brilliant in constructing smaller cars. Though not one of the most famous cars the type 501 we show here (click the photo) is a very good example of a relatively small car that has everything you would expect from a big tourer.
