Granted… the combination sounds attractive. But even more so when driving to the Adelita Cantina in your Tijuana Taxi. This 1932 Ford Five-Window Coupe was ordered new by the former President of Mexico, Roque González Garza. He gave this Five-Window Coupe to his son, who modified it by balancing and blueprinting the flathead V8. He fitted a set of Edelbrock cylinder heads and a pair of Stromberg carburettors. Apparently he raced it throughout Mexico and southern Texas. Eventually President Garza’s grandson placed the car in storage for several decades. The Five-Window Coupe will be offered by RM Auctions at their second annual sale at Hershey. The Ford still has the period race numbers and lettering and although they are badly worn, they ooze patina. And what’s more… the Ford will still make it to Tijuana. And double quick at that!
