John Steed's Vauxhall?

John Steed is not only known for his good taste in women, but also for his lust for vintage cars. In the famous 'almost prewar' tv-series The Avengers we spotted him in several vintage Bentley's and the occasional Vauxhall. Now this photo was shot in August 1926 in the Luton area, North of London. A far from standard Vauxhall 'Six'. A long chassis Roadster? A prototype? An aeroplane towing vehicle? Note the huge truck-like rear wheels. We scanned the internet to see if we could find anything on it, but to no avail. Who can help? The car doe bear a slight resemblance to one of John Steed's cars that we found at www.TheAvengers.tv (photo from collection John Barringer, click to ENLARGE)
