Fer Cools reports a recent discovery: “A friend got a tip-off that a vacated house near Eynatten in Belgium would house an old Citroën. We obviously had to follow up on that tip and sure enough we found a real Trefle 5hp from 1926. The house used to belong to a former mayor of Eupen who was killed during WW II. It is very likely that he owned this car. The garage seemingly housed more cars from the 50s and 60s, but they were already gone. As far as we know the Trefle ended up in the garage for repairs somewhere in the 50s. The head was lifted with next to it an antique spanner rusted solid. Because the garage had broken windows, the Trefle is covered in rust and some wooden parts of the body are rotten through. Other damage was probably caused by playing children from the nearby village. Anyway, I found it a very special experience to come face to face with such an old car in original condition.”
