If just for once you were the one making the final decision what you and your husband should bid on at the auction. Which pre-war would YOU choose? We made a selection of 12 pre-war cars from the Brightwells auction catalogue. All different in their own way. What is important to you? And which one would YOU choose?
Look for instance at this Triumph 14/60 with elegant aluminium Vitesse bodywork. The car has a luxurious interior and sunroof. With this wonderful bright blue coloured pre-war, you definitely make an entree, and you can find the car very easily in the car park!
Jaguar SS 1.5 Coachbuilt Saloon
Or this Jaguar SS 1.5 Coachbuilt Saloon. That is would we call driving in style. A very elegant and classy car. You can either drive it yourself or hire a chauffeur.
Take your wellington boots, a jumper and a picknick basket and off you go in this Singer Junior. Even on a grey day you can perfectly drive through the English countrysides and enjoy being out in the open air.

In the 1925 Renault NN Commerciale you can put easily all your groceries. No fiddling around with bags behind seats of small boots. “This vintage Renault farmer's pick-up truck has all the rugged, beaten-up Galllic charm of Gerard Depardieu, and can hold about the same amount of wine,” as described in the auction catalogue. Perfect! Don`t you think?!
Very different from the Renault NN Commerical is this Renault Model CC 14CV Tourer. Ideal if you are looking for a simple and reliable touring car, so you can go out on your own.
Did you also fall in love with this Morris Eight Series Two? You are not the only one, as it is one of Britain's best-loved pre-war cars. A small and affordable family car to drive the children to school.

Are you looking for something different? This splendid 1933 Super Sports Morgan 3-wheeler is offered without reserve. Do you dare to take a chance?
Lea Francis 12/40 P-Type Open Coupe with Dickey
If the history of a pre-war is important in your final decision. Then you would probably like to know that this Lea Francis 12/40 P-Type was delivered on 28th November 1929, we believe to a Miss Preighton. Meaning you will not be the first lady owner! The car was first registered in Denbighshire a county in north-east Wales on 2nd December 1929.
No such a girly girl? And do you prefer something a little bit more sporty? Then, as far as we are concerned is this Hotchkiss AM2 a good compromise.

If you would like to take all of your friends on a jolly, then this open tourer might be something for you. Capable of 50mph from its 4-cylinder 1,794cc side-valve engine.
We are almost at the end, but a car which is definitely worth looking at it this AC 16/66 Tourer. Do you like to be out and about? With this sporty but elegant four-seater, you can hit the road immediately, looking for a new adventure! But is also perfect for rallying and trails as is demonstrated by the previous owners of this car.
Of course, this Austin Seven Chummy does not come with park assist, but even if you are not so good at parking your car. We are sure you succeed with this sweet little motor car.

But there is more to look at: another Morgan Super Sports estimated between £18,000 and £20,000. A Ford Model T Racer, bright but tough, to take part in hill climbs. A Ford Model T 7cwt Van, which took just 93 minutes to assemble. An unrecognisable Ford Model B Roadster Hot Rod. A flamboyant Ford Model A Sport Coupe 50A, powered by a Howard Hicks-designed 3,285cc, L-head four-cylinder engine developing 40bhp (twice the Model T's output). A Dodge Model 4 Roadster Special, which started its life in 1925 as a saloon and found its way to New Zealand. A Daimler V32 4.5 Hooper Limousine with a straight-eight engine "to give the greatest luxury in travel as expressed by quietness, smoothness, flexibility, and general ease and safety of control rather than great speed”. A Buick Special 40 Sedan estimated between £8,000 and £11,000. And at last an AC Royal Two-Seater with Dickey, for a friend who you can invite out of "politeness" but put in the back on the Dickey seat.
Ladies, have you already made up your mind? It is difficult, right? As there is a lot of choice. If you have not yet decided, we can recommend you to see the cars in real life on Tuesday the 26th of September 2018. As all above mentioned pre-war car will be auctioned on Wednesday the 26th of September 2018 by Brightwells. The auction starts at 11:00 am.

Clearly I would bid for the Hotchkiss AM 2, if a nice and sporty BMW is not on offer.
Very best regards
