Lambdas at Large

Report by Peter Ransom: Three weeks ago a small number of Australian vintage and classic enthusiasts loaded their cars onto a train in Brisbane, Queensland, and travelled north to Cairns.  Then it was time to start the return journey, well over 2,000km when all side trips and sightseeing were taken into account.  If you look at a map of Queensland you’ll see why we called it the Gravity Rally! The two cars that will interest PreWarCar fans are both Lancia Lambdas with ballon (removable hardtop) coachwork, the only two in Australia. One is owned by Jak Guyomar, a PreWarCar T-shirt winner, and the other by Stuart Paton. The rally organiser was Peter Ransom, a PreWarCar jury member. The picture shows the rally team at Rockhampton, a city which is situated almost right on the Tropic of Capricorn.

Your story+ photo if published on the frontpage of PreWarCar and/or PostwarClassic are rewarded with the PreWarCar Reporter Cap. Thanks Peter! Your cap is on its way.
