Last Sunday (Update III: Perfect touring conditions?)

Main photo by Hubert Kranz cruising down to Amsterdam at a lonely highway A1 (click photo for his Riley Monaco on transport). Marc Hendrix Sandford did a nice attempt to reach us from Brussels bringing his threewheeler Sandford, (be sure to note the nice aero-shaping of his two front wheels). Next, Bart Rosman's well prepared Bugatti T43 (ex Pim Hasscher) including radiator cover and vintage snowchains. Father & Sun Rustige made it to the start with their Speed Six Bentley. Less fortunate aside Marc Hendrix were our Danish friends Ovesen who had to turn back near Hamburg. And several others from France, Eric & Augusta Philbiche, Jean Claude Leblonde & Marc Philbiche. Michael Crehan & Nancy Dickie could not get to the tunnel... Toby Ballard reached the boat, but it took him 29 hours in total to reach Amsterdam and he had to make a U-turn heading home only hours after arrival... At the moment we are rescheduling The 100 Miles for a nearest suitable date. But if you are in need of a White X-mas be sure to contact us. If you need winter, we can deliver!

Update III by Maarten Hoeben: “Just wanted to let you know that we (Jeroen Bruintjes & Maarten Hoeben) drove our Lagonda from Woudenberg, via Utrecht and family in Huizen, to the IJ-kantine and back. In total 200 kilometers of “perfect touring conditions” and an excellent night test for our Peking-to-Paris preparations.”
Update II by editor: Toby Ballard and Piethein Eigenraam have taken matters in their own hands. Toby had already been traveling for 33 hours (!) when they heard of the cancellation. Instead of going on to Monnickendam they took the slippery A2 to Vianen where on Sunday night they unloaded their 1916 American La France and drove their own rally through the winter wonderland to enjoy the snow.
Update by editor: Thielo Moerke from Germany made this picture of his 1937 Ford V8 just after he received our cancellation call on his mobile. Fully equipped with extra "Notek Drivemaster" lighting, snow chains and even an additional heater insulated interior he thought nothing could stop him :-)
