Mercédès in a Mercedes!

As much as we know about the Mercedes cars, so little we know about Mercédès Jellinek, the girl who gave her name to the marque. So far there was only one photograph of her as a very young girl and nothing else. Until now! The Daimler archive received several photo albums from the estate of Mercédès’ son. There are some 300 photographs showing scenes from her life, including one of Mercédès sitting in a Mercedes (is this the 1906 120PS Rennwagen as driven here by Camille Jenatzy?).
With the photo albums also came a passport from 1927, which tells us that Mercédès had chestnut-brown hair and green eyes – details we were never aware of. Is it coincidence that these photos came out exactly 110 years after the brand-name "Mercedes" was announced by Gottlieb Daimler; June 23rd 1902....   (courtesy Daimler AG)

What do you think ?
