New home for a Sleeping Beauty

You may remember the name of Kay Hottendorff as co-author of the book "The Fate of the Sleeping Beauties". Being involved (or should we say obsessed?) with barnfinds, it's only naturally that one day he would stumble on his own dream find, nothing less than a 1937 Cord 812 S/C Custom Beverly. This Cord has been stored for more than sixty years by a man who has owned it since 1949. It still is in an unbelievably original and complete condition, just look at that amazingly engine-turned dashboard. It still sports the original color "Palm Beach Tan" and also the 1952 California license plates are still on the car. Kay brought the Cord to his home in Germany and for the time being plans to preserve it in as-is condition. Maybe a restoration later, but then only technical, not optical. What a wonderful find, Kay, this delightful Cord more than deserves to keep its 75 year old patina.
More photos of this car and many other barnfinds can be found on Kay's website.
