My father owned an Oakland van and then he converted it into a small truck. I have been trying to find what it would have actually looked like when brand-new. It had a covered-in canopy on the back (a little higher than the front) where we kids used to ride. I don't know if that was how it was or if someone (possibly my father) changed it. It was said that it was a 1923 model. I would love to know or see a photo of one in its natural state. I'm hoping you can help me.
Yours,
Karyn Wairoa

These are contemporary newspaper ads for the Oakland 6-44 sedan. A delivery van is not in the price list but the front and hood appear to be identical.
There is a fair amount of information to be found online, but as a starting point you can find a PDF of the Oakland 1923 Series manual on the Oakland Owners' Club International website.
