The oldest competing car so far in The 100 Miles of Amsterdam is a 1909 Jackson. Not too many people have the courage to wake up their brass machinery for the tough winter-night rally. Laurens Klein has an other view on things. He drives his motorcar at least once a week and full year round, so the night rally will be the cherry on this year's cake. Laurens bought the car in parts and was a bit surprised to find a one cylinder 8HP De Dion Bouton engine with it. Only then he found that this british made Jackson is quite another car and make than the US built Jackson. This was four years ago and he rebuilt the car with own hands to its current perfect condition - check the sweet DDB purr... The only change he is considering after yesterday's foggy drive out, is a slight upgrade of the current lighting equipment... Laurens has good hope to get some snow during this year's run. With rain and heavy rain he has lots of experience already and this seems to be no problem for the sturdy franco-brit. Here is the current line up of competing cars.
