Showing here is a true collectors item. It's the prototype of our logo, developped early 2001 by art director Bert Tressel. It was only in July of the same year www.prewarcar.com was handcranked to life. Which exact date is not fully clear as we did some testing and due to that the first feature stories got lost in the mist of time. The first snippet that remains is the 'Bugatti Diesel'. Recently we decided that 10 July was the first day, correct or not.
On Sunday July 10th we will do a local Dutch re-enactment of the one Amilcar test drive ever to be published in the Netherlands. This because the editorial Amilcar was the initial inspiration to start all this. We found YW-77 - also named Imogen - on a well hidden website in the US. The car itself was located in Austin, Texas, which of course should have been Paris, Texas, but alas. Want to partipate on July 10? Starting from Amsterdam a 100 km tour will lead you to the great flatlands around our capital. Costs are Euro 50 p.p. (children up to 12 at half the price) . Write to [email protected] for more details and with how many you plan to come.
The Dutch rally aside we like to tap on your memory. Stories, photos and whatever has to do with this virtual meeting place. You can either upload straight away as Letter to the Editor, or send to [email protected]. As from July 10 we will start a series of promotions and more to get as many people as possible involved. You are most welcome to ventilate your ideas!
Congratulations on your tenth!
Cheers, Tony.
editor: thank you Tony, we'll think of you / drink to you on that day!
