Petrol can collection likes to grow (Upd. Oldest Petrol Ad ever.)

Bas de Voogd is always on the lookout for early & rare petrol cans. The problem is that after years and years of collecting finding one he does not yet have, has become a real pain. But also other petrol can related automobilia like cards and above all contacts with fellow collectors which seem to be scarce, very scarce. It seems there was even a radiator mascotte of the shell boy with the can on his shoulder. Anybody seen that ?  See here for some of Bas' collection.
