Photographs taken through a broken window...

Old garages in a backyard, maybe an old barn somewhere in a field or an old warehouse on a deserted terrain. Many (curious) car enthusiast would love to take a look through a dusty old window with cobwebs, a broken piece of cladding or some missing brickwork. Because who knows what pre-war treasures are hidden behind the walls?! Standing on your toes, on a found piece of stone. It almost sounds like a story from an inquisitive little boy.

Jeff Perkins send us these two photographs with the following words; "I spied this car through some broken windows in an old warehouse. Can you identify these? I am guessing Locomobile 1912?"

For safety reason, we will not tell you the exact location the photographs were taken. But we would like to know if anyone can tell us more about the pre-war on the photograph. Please comment below if you would like to share your knowledge with us.

Looks like the interior of the derelict factory in the background of Jeff Perkins last posting on 10th April on this site called
'Some Aluminium Castings'. Same architectural details. A strong Mercedes connection therefore and I agree with John Kent.

Hi, I believe this to be an Edwardian Mercedes. The inlet manifold, the fan which rotates anticlockwise and the rake of the fan blades confirm this also the brass shroud over the exhaust manifold, all Mercedes features. The radiator too is the correct shape for a Mercedes.

Thanks and regards,

John Kent
