This photo was sent two days ago by Packard connoisseur José Gomez. The photo was handed to him in Uruguay. Like last weeks's Pic-Pic, Stella is a rare Swiss make from Geneva. According to the information of Fredi Vollenweider from Switzerland this could very well be the same car that arrived in Europe one or two years ago: "The Stella is one of the rarest cars in the world. Between 1906 and 1913 only some 100 cars have been built and today only 1 example still exists. It has the 4 cylinder monobloc engine, built in 1912 and according to the dealer (Monsieur Lalanne) the car was up to 2000 in one and the same family. Someone told me, that the Foundation Gianadda in Martigny, Switzerland, bought the car that will be restored in Italy now. The collection of the museum in Martigny owns the most important collection of Swiss cars, built before 1918." (photos courtesy José Gomez and Fredi Vollenweider / click for sideview)
