The enthusiast response to yesterday's Ruby engine that we decided to publish some of the follow up. The photos came from (the collection of) Paul Linster. Comments by Baron L.B. de M. : " ... I truly like the size of the brakes drums....so the late E. Bugatti was not alone when, challenged on the poor braking performance of his cars, he answered superbly " my cars are designed to be fast, not to stop...."
Paul is keeping this photo since he recently stumbled over this Chapuis Dornier engine that is said once to have been revving in the above cycle 'rocket'. The Baron writes about this engine Chapuis Dornier: "That's not an OHV, like the mystery one. It is a very good side valve, that was used ....
