According to the encyclopedia a kestrel is mainly light chestnut brown with blackish spots on the upperside. But we found you a rare bird that comes in purple with white spots that’s rumored to have last flown in 1964. This Kestrel has been locked in its cage since the mid-seventies and it certainly looks like it. Yet it still has all its feathers and claws, although they are a bit ruffled ;-) But a once magnificent Kestrel like this should not been kept in a dark cage. It must be allowed to fly like it used to do, although there is a problem with its purple feathers and white spots? Should you bring them back to their former glory or keep them as they are? A difficult decision only you can make. This stylish Kestrel now resides at Brightwells, but will be let out on December the 12th. You can find it at cage number 62.
