Organised by the Dion Bouton Register an online poll on the entry age of London to Brighton. See top right of the Dion-Bouton homepage.
Earlier text: What earlier this year started as a dispute on allowing two years more modern cars to the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, is escalating into an automotive war. We learned there will be an alternative Red Flag Run being organised by Daniel Ward, respected competitor in earlier L-t-B Runs (see him arriving in Brighton with his 1892 Peugeot). This protest Run will be held on the same day, Sunday 3 November, but wants to be true to the commemoration of the abolishment of the 4 miles speedlimit in 1896. We don't know if this also means that only 1896 automobiles and older will be eligible. And there are more questions to be answered. Will the two Veteran Car Runs leave London at the same hour? Do they use different routes? Are they going to use different carparks in Brighton? Or is this going to be a real race? The very young website of The Red Flag Run for sure will soon give all the answers. (photos by editor)
