The choice of a new MG generation (UPDATE: new wheels?)

David Griffith (no not UK, but Houston, Texas) writes: "I am building a miniature MG for my son, I have finished the mock up and it is now torn down for body and paint... I will follow up with the finished photos. Thought it would be fun to post it is powered by a 125cc ATV engine with 4 speeds and reverse. It is chain driven to the back wheels.. Fully sprung suspension front and with underslung rear axle. Miniature friction dampers really work." (editor: well we think David should consider a small series of this beauty, let's say 25 cars. But he better be quick before Tata, India will start pouring out those...)

Update by Dick Trenk: "...the wire spoked wheels look like they are from a motorcycle and if so, they cannot withstand much lateral "G's" created when going around corners strongly. Wire spoked wheels for cars have to be able hold up against very severe lateral cornering forces while two wheel bikes and motorcycles only have to withstand strong vertical forces (plus a very little lateral force). Therefore I suggest Mr. Griffith should consider different laced wheels or perhaps just not allow the little car to go through the S-turns too quickly?"
