The Countess likes to drive.

Melanie Gräfin (countess) Khevenhüller was one of the first ladies in Austria, driving a car. She worked at the top of the automobilism in Austria, when this new craze started. Her enthusiasm for speed made her organising events and driving her car in them. Her car a 1904 Mercedes Simplex still belongs to the family and will be driven at the event by her great-grandson Kari Count Khevenhüller. To the honour of the Countess and the 100.th birthday of her car, Prince Khevenhüller together with the Austrian Automobil and Touring Club (ÖAMTC), present a beautiful challenge trophy, which is a replica of one, won by her in the 1909 Konkurrenzfahrt.(text & photos courtesy AVCA; click for the original tropy)
