Who thought that after the mid-eighties 'Sleeping Beauties' it was over with Bugatti finds was wrong. Very wrong. In fact the frequency of finds seems to go up. Only very recent this T 57 Ventoux was found in a barn near the small German town Esslingen by enthusiast car-historian Martin Otto Lambert Heukeshoven. After a first inspection the remainders of the car were sent to Paris where it is exposed in a dark far end corner of the Salle des Expositions. The car of course will need a small fortune to have its former glory restored. But before that we can enjoy the sight of what Mr. Heukeshoven so well describes as 'autumn of a legend'. Check the rear (click). Give a thorough inspection to the engine (click). Don't forget the chassis (click). And special attention deserves the original interior (click). We wonder when and at which Concours this car will see its comeback. We wish Mr. Heukeshoven lots of succes with his further research. (photos editor)
