The Harris Steering Wheel Mystery

Frank Sly has asked for our help in locating a mystery banjo steering wheel. The wheel comes from a very rare 1935 Harris FWD Speedster that Frank and his partner John are restoring (click the link for the as yet incomplete story). The steering wheel could be from a European type sporting car because of its small rim size, but it has to date pre-1935 because it has been on the Harris from new. The steering wheel diameter is basically 14 inches, the hub splits in half by screws, the spokes are held in place when one screws the hub halves together. Any help is welcome, not only in identifying the wheel, so a correct restoration can be carried out, or maybe just to find the horn button and ring in the hub (click main pic to see what we mean). Can we help out?

Joop,
Thanks or the idea and thought.
We are just middle class working stiffs and we may try this.
Problem being, we do believe that the Speedster will receive Invitations to prestigious shows, we worry that Ben's creation would suffer a fate not deserving of it's unique place in automobile history and design.
We are hoping to find the monetary means by a investor to perform a invitational renovation.
Thanks for your idea, do appreciate it.
John

I ones took a piece of flexible plastic hose and put it around the broken steeringwheel and than slowly dripping the soft -two component- polyester inside the hose. Waited for a night and when everything was hardened I cut the hose away. Took me a few hours with different kinds of sandpaper to have a good result. A couple of layers of respay in beige and the result was really good; at least I saved the steeringwheel at almost no cost. It's forth a shot to do it in this simple but good way...

Bart,
Thank you for the tip.
We will contact the company you sent us the link to.

Would really like to find one that is an old original.
Worst case, will have to have one made.
Thank you,
John
